Mrs. Mattie Ruth Kemp, 92 of Keystone Heights passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010 in Gainesville. Mrs. Kemp was born in Elba, AL on September 26, 1917 to the late Isaiah and Stella (Harris) Maddox. Mrs. Kemp was a retired womens clothing store manager and was member of the First Baptist Church of Umatilla. Her survivors include her children; Judy Burnett (Efird) of Keystone Heights and Sam Kemp (Marlene) of Eustis. She is also survived by her siblings, William Maddox (Merle) of Enterprise, Al and Magdeline Hornsby of Macon, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband John Elbert Kemp, son Ted Kemp and her grandson Eddie Meadows. Funeral services for Mrs. Kemp will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 11 Oclock in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Prose officiating.
