It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen OConnor Chase on Friday, January 31, 2025. She was born on July 3,1946 in Taunton, Massachusetts. But lets briefly talk about the dash. Maureen grew up in a large family with strong family values in Taunton, Massachusetts. She was very proud of her heritage and always considered Taunton as home. She met the love of her life, Herbert Chase, at age 15 and they spent the next 63 years side by side. They moved to Florida after the blizzard of 1979 and have resided here throughout the remainder of her life. She certainly loved and lived her life to the fullest. She traveled across the country countless times throughout her life. She enjoyed diving, snorkeling, skiing, and flying with her husband. She fostered many children over the years and her home was a beacon for her childrens friends. Some of her favorite pastimes were family and friend get-togethers. Maureen was of Catholic faith and Irish heritage. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Chase, two daughters, Michele (Steve) Williams, Crystal Chase (Pete) Mangham, grandchildren, Logan (Will) Shaw, Skyler (Austin) Smith, Ty Williams, Jake Mangham and Connor Hartley, great grandchild, Julian "Nugs" Shaw, and brother, George O'Connor, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Chase, her mother and father, Irene Dexter and George O'Connor, and sister, Eileen Williams. Maureen experienced a rich life filled with diverse experiences, deep connections with others, and a sense of purpose that contributed positively to her family and the world around them, essentially a life that felt complete and significant that made a positive impact.
