May De Maggio Herzig

Mrs. May De Maggio Herzig age 85, of Keystone Heights passed away at her home, Wednesday, April 19, 2017. She was born in Jacksonville on December 11, 1931 to the late Joseph and Argentina (Quest) De Maggio. Mrs. Herzig was a homemaker and had been a resident of Keystone Heights since 1977 moving from Jacksonville. She was also in the Laymens Home Missionary Movement. Mrs. Herzig was preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, Aldean Gibbs in 1991 and her second husband of 14 years, Gerald Herzig in 2006 and her third husband Robert Herzig of 8 years in 2017 along with her son in law Michael Kirkpatrick also in 2017. Her survivors include her three daughters, Cathy Kirkpatrick of Jacksonville, Brenda McGlothlin (Nelson) of Lynnville, TN, Sharon Kraft (Ken) of Orange Park; two sons, Bruce Gibbs (Shelley) and Bill Gibbs (Debbie) all of Keystone Heights. Also left behind are her six siblings, Pete De Maggio of De Funick Springs, John De Maggio, Albert De Maggio, Marie Martinez, Gloria Foster all of Jacksonville, and Rose Graves of Madison; along with sixteen grandchildren, and thirty-two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 22, 2017 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Dan Herzig will be officiating and the interment will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
