Melvin D. Lowrey, born July 9, 1935, in Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the son of the late Donald Leo Lowrey and Mattie (Kramm) Lowrey.

Melvin spent his life working as a welder, a craft to which he devoted himself with skill, dedication, and an unwavering work ethic. He took great pride in providing for his family and in the honest labor that defined his career. Alongside his beloved wife, Lois Lowrey, Melvin was a longtime member of Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church, where their shared faith and fellowship were a constant source of strength and community.

He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Lois Lowrey; his daughter, Jacquelyn Stevens (James); his grandson-in-law, James "Andy" Grimes; and his parents.

Melvin is lovingly remembered by his son, Randall Lowrey (Susan); and his grandchildren: Jonathan Lowrey (Jeanne), Timothy Stevens (Melody), Andrew Lowrey (Cristin), Lisa Grimes (the late James "Andy" Grimes), Adam Lowrey, and Jacob Lowrey. He also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, all of whom will continue to carry his memory forward.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
