Merlyne Swilley Brooker

Merlyne Swilley Brooker, 71, peacefully passed away into her heavenly home on Friday, November 11, 2016 with her family by her side. Merlyne was born in Alachua, FL. on November 26, 1944 to Ivey and Elise Swilley. She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1962, worked as a legal secretary and then helped found and manage the family's business, Brooker's Pest Control.The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to her loving caregivers at both Ayers Rehabilitation Center and Haven Hospice.Merlyne is survived by her daughters, Angie Brooker Payne (Dan), and Becky Brooker Manthey (James); Six grandchildren, Joshua, Jillian, Landon, Addison, Coleton and Ashlynn.There will be a celebration of her life on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Evans Carter Funeral Home in High Springs. Visitation will be held at Evans Carter Funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at New Oak Grove Cemetery in Alachua, FL.
