Mettie M. Cousins, 94 of Gainesville passed away on October 26, 2012 at her residence; she was surrounded by her family and had been lovingly cared for by Nature Coast Hospice. Mrs. Burke was born in Fine, N.Y. and moved to Gainesville in 1987 from Naranja, FL. Mrs. Burke was a Practical Nurse and had worked in many Nursing Homes in N.Y. and FLShe was preceded in death by her husband Francis Burke in 2006, as well as 3 brothers and 2 sisters; Mrs. Burke is survived by 1 Sister, Eunice Laverghetta, 2 daughters, Sharon Rice, and Linda Briggs, 4 Grandchildren, 6 Great-grandchildren.Mrs. Burke will be buried next to her husband in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
