Michael Leonard Conner

Mr. Michael L. Conner, Sr. 69 of Starke passed at away his home Saturday, July 17, 2021. He was born September 1, 1951, in Starke to Marcus Lee and Lillian A. (Kelly) Conner and graduated with the Class of 1971 from BHS. Mike began working for Shands Hospital in Gainesville before becoming employed by Jones Funeral Home; he then finished his working career with Roy's Grocery in Starke. In his spare time he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses, taking care of his animals and being on the farm. But most of all Mike loved being with his family. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his daughter Shannon Conner and a grandson Denlen Michael DeWitt Conner. He is survived by his son Michael L. (Rachel) Conner, Jr. and daughter Michelle Conner and his sister Janice Joiner all of Starke. He was also called "Papa" by Justin "Blake" Conner, William "Will" Conner, Adrian Jenkins, Masey (Ryan) Crossway, Anna Conner, Lily Conner, Ayvah Williams, Connor Austin and Dustee (Dylan) Chamberlain. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 27, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Bayless Highway Baptist Church with memorial services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Steve Conner will be officiating.
