Michael Andreu Green, 78 years of age, passed away from natural causes on June 12th. Born July 5, 1945, he was the fourth child of former Congressman Robert Alexis (Lex) and Lucile Harris Green. Michael was predeceased by his parents and his elder brother and retired Judge R.A. (Buzzy) Green, Jr., and is survived by his sister, Sandra (Lu) Green Sanders of Starke and his brother, William (Bill) Green of Tallahassee. Brain trauma from a premature birth made Michael unable to verbally communicate; however, he was highly gifted in other ways such as having an extraordinary ability to do mathematics, computer games, and puzzles. Michael resided at Tacachale Center in Gainesville since the early 1960s, where he was treated like "family" and well taken care of by its dedicated staff.Funeral services will be held at the New River Baptist Church at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
