Michael Eugene James, age 58, passed away in his sleep on February 17th, 2017.Michael was born on October 14th, 1958 in Dearborn, Michigan, to Beulah Kilgore and Eugene James, but was raised by his uncle, Donald Kilgore, in Ocala, Florida. During his childhood, Michael was an avid painter and horse-rider. He joined the Navy at eighteen where he was stationed on the USS Nimitz. At twenty-nine, Michael started a family with Amy Lobb-James, and soon became a devoted father to three sons. After moving many times throughout his life, Michael eventually settled down in Melrose, Florida, where he has become a vital member of the local community. Michael was known for his passion for Harley Davidsons and his twenty-nine years spent working in auto body repair. Those who knew Mike appreciated his humor, hospitality, and compelling storytelling.Michael is survived by Amy Lobb-James, the mother of his sons Dalton (Danielle), Dylan, and Carson; his sisters Linda (Rob), Pam (Gary), Rosie, and Vicky; his brothers Tony and Freddie; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and close friends Tom Whitton, Mike Jeffers, and Sharon Thompson.A graveside funeral service will be held at Melrose Cemetery onFriday, February 24th, 2017, at11:00 a.m.Please join us in honoring the life of Michael Eugene James.
