Michael "Mike" Thomas Kirkpatrick

Mr. Michael "Mike" Thomas Kirkpatrick age 68, of Jacksonville passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Community Hospice. He was born in Jacksonville on September 8, 1948 to the late Thomas and Frances (Fegar) Kirkpatrick and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Prior to his retirement, Mike had been employed with Winn Dixie for 40 years as a floor manager and maintenance before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, watching football games, and NASCAR races and was also a Bible student. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Chalker. Mike is survived by his wife of 49 years Cathy (Gibbs) and their three children, Lisa Michelle Strickland (Jason) of Navarre, Michael A. Kirkpatrick (JoAnn) of Lawtey and Angela M. Hammitt of Jacksonville; two half-brothers, Tom Kirkpatrick and Guy Kirkpatrick; a half-sister, Diane Herbertson, a step-brother, Ted Herbertson and his stepmother, Ruby Kirkpatrick all of Jacksonville. Also left behind is Mikes mother-in-law, May Herzig of Keystone Heights and four grandchildren; Elissa, Jacob, Taylor and Zachery along with numerous additional family members. Funeral services for Mike will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brandon Demark officiating; viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Keystone Heights Cemetery. There will be a visitation for family and friends at Trinity Baptist Church from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. following interment.
