Michael Edward Lake, 56 of Saint Johns, FL, passed away on Thursday January 14, 2021 in Jacksonville, FL.Memorial services & interment will be held September 24th, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.Michael was born in Racine, Wisconsin to Jack Emil Lake & Gloria Jean (Bergman) Lake. After high school, Michael joined the United States Marine Corps. He served for over 17 years, retiring from service as Staff Sergeant. Following his retirement from the military Michael began a career of further service to others. He primarily worked in the construction field as a contractor specializing in home refurbishment and later went on to work as a maintenance engineer at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek.A Jacksonville area resident, Michael came here from Phoenix, Arizona where he spent many years after his military service. Among his favorite things to do in his spare time was enjoying nature. Michael liked to go hiking, bird watching & golfing among other things. He was also extremely artistic & creative. He enjoyed painting, drawing, woodworking & designing. Michael was a family orientated person and always outgoing, caring, and compassionate. His greatest passion was helping others and making them happy.Michael is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Lake; his son, Johnathan Lake; his granddaughter, Madilyn Sloan; his siblings Kelly Mossell (husband, Jay) & Mark Lake (wife, Michelle); his life partner, Kathleen Weber and by his former wife, Bobbi Allen.
