Michael "Mike" James Mcrae Age 74 Of Starke

Mr. Michael "Mike" James McRae, 74, of Starke, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 12, 2025, following an extended illness.

He was born October 1, 1951, in Starke to James "Potlicker" McRae and Marian (Kurtz) McRae, Mike was a proud graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1969. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. Following his military service, Mike continued his dedication to public service as a deputy with the Bradford County Sheriff's Office and as a corrections officer at Union Correctional Institution. He also gave back to the community as a substitute teacher with Bradford County Schools.

A member of Madison Street Baptist Church, Mike was a man of faith and commitment. He had a passion for riding his Harley-Davidson and was a devoted Florida Gators fan.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David "Davie" Russell McRae.

He is survived by his loving son, Zach McRae (Angel) of Starke; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, his cherished grand-pups, and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

A memorial service for Mike will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2025, in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Reverend Charles Warren and dear friend Mr. Bob Milner officiating. Burial will be private a later date at the Crosby Lake Cemetery.
