Funeral services for Michael Eugene Smith, 61, who passed away on January 1, 2015, will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 4731 Norwood Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32206, with Fr. Michael Houle officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday (Today) from 6-8 PM at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206, where a Vigil Prayer service will be held on Sunday at 7 PM. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus Council #5407. Mr. Smith was a family man who loved his family and was very proud of them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Jean Smith; grandchild, Mike Smith and great nephew, Will Hester.
