Michael "Mike" Shane Tate

Mr. Michael "Mike" Shane Tate, age 54 of Keystone Heights passed away at his home Friday, June 7, 2019, following a long illness. He was born February 12, 1965, in Jacksonville to the late Emmett Chester and Lola Catherine (Hicks) Tate, Sr. and made Keystone Heights his home in 1995. Mike was a floor installer and carpenter; he liked cars and enjoyed watching his favorite shows on television. When he was younger he also enjoyed playing baseball. Mike leaves behind his loving wife of thirty-four years Rosa (Griffin) Tate and their three children Misty Tate, Crystal Miller and Mandy Kirk all of Keystone Heights. Also left behind are four siblings Emmett Chester Tate, Jr., Brenda Darlene Kelly, Shirley Jean Tate and Anita Denise Aiken all of Jacksonville. He was lovingly called "Papa" by Kaley, Rosa, Bryce, Brynlie, Chase and Ashlynn. There will be a memorial service scheduled at a later date.
