Michael Alan Torrence went home to be with his Heavenly Father~ November 23, 2012, the day after Thanksgiving. He passed awaypeacefully while in the care of Hospice along with the kind staff of TheClyde Lassen VA Nursing Home in St. Augustine, FL.Mike was born in Miami, FL and was 1 of 4 children of his late Father,Calvin Edward Torrence, also of Miami, and his Loving Mother BettyJean Jones Torrence, currently of Penney Farms, FL. Mike is alsosurvived by his brother Robert Edward of Jacksonville, FL, hisseeesters Kathy Torrence, also of Jax, & Barbara Castelli, of GreenCove Springs. Nieces Jessie & Rachel, and Nephews Jason & Gregory, &Great Nephew Zackary.Mike proudly served in the US Army. He worked for both the Hanesand the IAMS corporations in NC. He was an avid student andsupporter of the Shepherds Chapel. He unselfishly gave to countlessclubs and organizations. AND, he was a huge fan of the 3 stooges, theAtlanta Braves, and the Dallas Cowboys.Mike was a generous, funny and loving Son, Brother, Uncle and GreatUncle. The Deli had many friends whom he loved deeply ~ his soulmate, Karen, his best buddy, Gwen, and his brother in Christ, Tom, toname an important few.Mike called the mountains of NC home and his wishes were for hisashes to be scattered there. A Celebration of Life Gathering will beplanned for Mike this Spring in those mountains. The details of thisgathering will be placed in this paper on February 21, 2013 ~ the dayafter Mikes 60th Birthday.We will miss you Mike and you will always be in our hearts. hide
