GRIFFIN: Mildred B. "Mickey", 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, Sept, 11, 2014. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Royce, her son, Jerry and daughter-in-law, Ginny, her 2 granddaughters Tammy and Shayna. Her parents, Monroe and Belle Bennett; Brother, Tommie and sister-in-law, Dottie Bennett, sister-in-law, Lois Griffin, and brother-in-law, Dr. Marvin Griffin. She is survived by her loving daughters, Cherry and Holly, devoted sons-in-law, whom she called her sons, Sammy Fulford and Dr. Steven Ferber. Daughter, Debbie Griffin. She was Nonnie to Sammy Jr., Michael, Tim, Daniel, Lauren, Josh, C.J., Sabena, Anya, Ezra, Marlee, and Aden. Loving nieces and nephews. Many others who called her Mama, Marvarie McArthur, Kathy and Buddy Thomas, Jay Farmer and Ruth Ann Jackson. Faithful caregiver, Lala. Mickey lived life to the fullest with Faith in God, priority to family, and optimism. She always encouraged others and touched many lives with her gentle and loving spirit. She was a former member of Southside Assembly of God prior to moving membership to Lannie Road Baptist Church. We would like to thank Dr. Guy Selander and his entire staff for years of excellent care. Visitation will be held Sunday (Today) from 2-4 PM at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main St., Jacksonville, FL 32206 (904)355-9545. Funeral services will be held Monday at 12:00 Noon at Lannie Road Baptist Church, 5998 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218, with Pastor Buddy Wimberly officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
