Mrs. Mildred "Mickey" Adele S. Tristani age 82, of Keystone Heights passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at the V.A. Hospital in Gainesville. Mrs. Tristani was born in Freeport, Iowa to the late Chester and Louisa (Ploeger) Sheetz, Sr. and had served in the United States Air Force. She was a retired Clerk from the Duval County School Board and had moved to Keystone Heights 19 years ago from Jacksonville. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and was the past President of Melrose HCE, local AARP Chapter, and American Legion Post 202 Auxiliary. Mrs. Tristani was the first woman Commander for the American Legion Post 202 (3rd in district 5) and had brought the Legion Post 202 from the brink of bankruptcy. She enjoyed reading, sewing and crafts. She was preceded in death by her first husband Harold Stabler in 1988 and her second husband Carlos Tristani in 1996. Survivors are her sons, Claude Francis Stabler of Keystone Heights, John Richard Stabler of Kathleen, GA, Paul Davis Stabler of Easley, SC; daughters, Iris Marie (Stabler) Hall of Elgin, SC, Karen Adele Stabler of Hastings, and Celia Ann (Stabler) Vencil of Keystone Heights. Also left behind is one brother, Chester "Chet" Vernon Sheetz, Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and stepchildren, Carlos M. Tristani II, Eric Tristani, and Valerie Tristani Thompson; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Trinity Baptist Church beginning 12 Noon until the start of the services at 1:00 p.m. Dr. James Peoples and Reverend Scott Stanland will be officiating.
