It is with both sadness and a celebration of a beautiful life lived that we announce the passing of Missie Lee Thompson, who departed this world on May 7, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on August 4, 1967, in Denmark, SC, Missie brought joy and warmth to all who knew her.

Missie was a loving mother to her children, Demetrius Woods and Maria Almanesh Thompson, and cherished the bonds she shared with her siblings, Dorothy Mae Thompson, Sammie Thompson, and Diane Thompson. Though Missie's life took many turns, she faced each challenge with grace and resilience, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those around her.

To honor and celebrate Missie's life, a Memorial Service will be held at Forest Meadows Funeral Home on May 23, 2026, at 11:30 AM. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Missie are invited to join in this celebration of her remarkable journey.

In this time of remembrance, we encourage all who knew Missie to come together, share stories, and celebrate the love, laughter, and memories that continue to keep her spirit alive in our hearts. She may have departed from this world, but her legacy of kindness and strength will forever shine brightly in the lives she touched.

Missie was preceded in death by her parents Nathan and Albertha Thompson, her brother Teddy Thompson and sister Mary Ann Drake.
