Mrs. Monteen Copeland Crenshaw age 88, of Starke passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Crenshaw was born on March 3, 1925 in Archer, Florida to the late Gary Ellis and Atha Narcissus (Bradberry) Copeland and moved to Starke 13 years ago from Gainesville. Prior to retirement she worked as a cashier for Kmart. Mrs. Crenshaw was a member of Hope Baptist Church, enjoyed cooking, working with flowers and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her daughter Joan Bohannon, three siblings, Ivalene Cricket Chitty, Clara Sullivan, and Carmel Copeland, and the childrens father Roy Edward Crenshaw. Survivors are: daughter Peggy Hersey (John Wayne) of Starke; son: Jerry Crenshaw (Janet), and son in law, Terry Bohannon all of Gainesville; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Strickland officiating with interment following in Hope Cemetery. Viewing will begin one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions to please be made to 3900 SE State Road 100 Starke, FL 32091.
