Morris "Tony" Hollingsworth

Morris Anthony "Tony" Hollingsworth of Gainesville died August 28, 2021, after a brief illness. He was 74.Tony grew up in Jacksonville and followed his father's career in steel fabrication. He took great pride in the tangible results of his work and would point out to family members structures he created or helped to create all over Jacksonville and Gainesville. After several years working in this field, Tony made a choice to follow a life-long dream of becoming an over-the-road- truck driver. He found this second career to be challenging physically, however he enjoyed having the opportunity to see many different parts of the US he may not have otherwise been able to visit. Due to health concerns, Tony retired early to be able to spend time with his family, friends and go fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents Vara Moore and E.L. Hollingsworth, and brothers Charles Stribling and Billy Stribling.Tony is survived by his wife Cheryl of Gainesville, daughters; Wendy (Timothy) Forrester of Jacksonville and Erica Hollingsworth of Gainesville, sons; Michael (Lora) Hollingsworth of Jacksonville and Clinton (Melissa) Hollingsworth of San Diego, brother; Bobby (Grace) Stribling of Callahan, sisters; Dale Hollingsworth of Jacksonville, and Susan (Chuck) Kueser of Indianapolis, and seven grandchildren.Funeral services for Tony will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Megruder officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date at Forest Meadows Memorial Park- Central. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.
