Mr. Ralph Donald Roberts, Jr. 89 of Gainesville, Florida, passed away Wednesday,February 23, 2022 at E.T. York Hospice Care Center, Gainesville.Ralph was born in Waterloo, Iowa on June 30, 1932 to Ralph and Elizabeth (Avery)Roberts.He was the Nursing Home Administrator of Robert's Care Center. He proudlyserved in the United States Army from 1951~1952 where he was wounded incombat and was awarded the Purple Heart upon his medical discharge.Ralph was the VFW Commander for three years as well as the Canteen Managerfor ten years. He was the Secretary at the Moose Lodge, a member of theAmerican Legion, Elks Lodge (BPOE), the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and AMVETS.He enjoyed reading, cruises, going to private clubs, playing golf and pool as well asboating.Ralph is survived by his loving wife Janice Roberts, his children, Terry Barco,Loretta Hunter, and Lisa Hodge, and his brother, Michael Roberts, as well as by hisgrandchildren, Amanda Carlton, Blake Hunter, Joe Bradfield, Shon Hodge, TimothyBarco and Jamie.He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, David, Roberts, RonaldRoberts, and JoAnn Swanell.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2 nd from 6-8 pm at Forest MeadowsFuneral Home; 725 NW 23 rd Avenue Gainesville.
