Mr. Kenneth David
Buckner Age 80 Of Keystone Heights
May 2, 1945 — Feb 1, 2026
Mr. Kenneth David Buckner, age 80 of Keystone Heights, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 1, 2026, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka following a short battle with cancer. He was born on May 2, 1945, in McDonald, Tennessee to Thomas G. and Margie V. (Leamon) Buckner.
He was a proud veteran, having served as a Military Police Officer in the Air Force, and earning his bachelor's degree in criminology, which was a testament to his commitment to learning and growth. His career as a highway patrol officer began in Pahokee, where he met the love of his life, Paula, and he retired as a Major 31 years later in Venice.
Mr. Buckner was an active and longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he lived out his faith and brought joy to those around him volunteering countless hours and assisting in many areas of the church. Whether he was playing, watching, teaching, or encouraging others, the sport of golfing was definitely his passion.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by seven siblings. Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife Paula (Bryant) Buckner, together they enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage, building a loving family that includes two daughters Kelly Pickering and her husband Casey of Palm Coast, and Kara Buckner of Keystone Heights. Also left behind is his sister Joan Torres of Blountstown
As "Pawpaw," he took immense joy in the lives of his grandchildren—Bailey and her husband Tanner, Khorydel, Reiley, Konner, Trenton, and Christopher, along with his great-grandson, Kheanu. He was a dedicated family man who always made time for the important things in life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., February 21, 2026, in Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Denmark officiating. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lake Area Ministries, P.O. Box 1325, Keystone Heights, FL 32656.
Arrangements are under the care of JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 340 E. WALKER DR. KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, FL 32656. 352-473-3176.www.jonesgallagherfh.com
