Mr. Louis Elwood "Lou" Wilkins

Mr. Louis E. Wilkins "Mr. Lou" age 83 of Keystone Heights passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at his home after an extended illness. He was born July 26, 1934 in Newfane, New York to the late Elwood and Marion (Hall) Wilkins. Following his years of service in the United States Army, Mr. Wilkins decided to make Florida his home. He had lived in Lake City for several years then he retired to Keystone Heights in 1991. Mr. Wilkins spent 28 years in law enforcement and 16 of those were in Union County as a Corrections Officer. He is preceded in death by his wife Danette Wilkins; a son David Wilkins; a daughter Wendy Wilkins, and a granddaughter Cynthia "Nikki" Mann. His survivors are his son Douglas Wilkins; three daughters Linda Buckler, Melanie Wilkins, and Cyndi Warfel. Also left behind are five grandchildren Crystal Browning, John Warfel, Tanisha Adkins, Jessica Hunt, and Jasmine Warfel along with seven great grandchildren. A memorial service for Mr. Wilkins will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2018 in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel.
