Gordon Wayne Jones, 88 yrs old, of Melrose, passed away onFebruary 24th in his home in Melrose.Visitation will be held at Forest Meadows Funeral Home on March 1, 2023 at at 6PM.Funeral service will be held at Melrose Cemetery on March 2nd at10AM with Pastor Aaron Morgan of Orange heights Baptist Churchofficiating. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery, 821 State Rd 21, Melrose, FL 32666. Forest MeadowsFuneral Home are handling the funeral arrangements.Gordon Wayne Jones was born in Tichnor, Arkansas to Robertand Beatrice on November 26, 1934. He received his education inLittle Rock, Arkansas. He went on to receive his certification as anInstrument Technician from the Jacksonville Plumbers andPipefitters Training School. He worked as a pipe fitter for Local 234out of Jacksonville. He enjoyed reading, caring for his animals,traveling and spending time with friends and family.He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Jones, mother BeatriceMcDonald Jones, Wife, Carolyn Danford Strickland Jones,and brothers and sisters.He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Strickland and wife Nancy, BrettStrickland and wife Brandy, son Gordon Jones Jr. and wife Teresa. He isalso survived by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well asnieces and nephews.donations may be made in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may bemade to Mill Creek Farm.
