Obituary for Willie B. "Sonny" McNeill

Willie B. "Sonny" McNeill, born on May 7, 1942, in Florida, departed this life on June 29, 2025. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Brian McNeill, his daughter, Lori Green, his sister, Patricia Smith, his son-in-law, Jeremy Green, and his cherished grandchildren, Walker Thomas and Hunter.

Sonny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary McNeill, whose presence brought him unmatched joy. His commitment to his family was evident in everything he did; he would travel great distances after business trips just to spend time with her, embodying a love that knew no bounds. His parents Willie B. McNeill Sr. and Dollie Ingram, his brother, Michael E. McNeill.

As the Founder and President of McNeill Water & Waste Plant, Sonny distinguished himself as a brilliant businessman and a skilled salesman whose kindness and genuine nature touched the lives of many. His ability to connect with people made him a beloved figure in his community. A passionate enthusiast of custom cars and river boating, he brought creativity and enjoyment to every aspect of his life. His talent for design was evident not only in his work but in the love he put into his hobbies. A dedicated pet owner, he adored his dog, Sugar, who provided him with companionship and joy.

Sonny was a man of faith, grounded in the teachings of the Baptist Christian tradition. His spiritual beliefs fostered a spirit of encouragement in those around him, inspiring kindness and gentleness in their interactions with one another. He lived a tenacious life, embracing every moment with vigor and purpose, bringing joy and positivity to the lives of those he encountered.

A memorial service is scheduled at 12:30pm Saturday, July 12th, at St. Mark Episcopal Church, located at 212 N. Church St., Starke, FL 32091. Following the service, There will be an inurnment at Crosby Lake Cemetery, situated at 6209 State Route 100, Starke, FL 32091.

Funeral services in honor of Willie B. McNeill will be held at a later date.

Willie B. "Sonny" McNeill will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on through the love he shared, the kindness he inspired, and the memories etched in the hearts of all who knew him.
