Mrs Matilda Marie Smith

Mrs. Matilda Marie (Grune) Smith, 89 of Fleming Island, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Mrs. Smith was born May 17, 1929 in Bay City, Texas to the late Paul Frank and Marie (Kiehr) Grune. She was of the Bahai Faith and held a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Her husband, Thomas Wilson Smith, and her son, Curtis Wilson Smith, preceded her in death. Survivors are her son, Thomas Lincoln Smith of Fleming Island, daughter, Kimberly Smith Ashley of Jacksonville, sisters, Pauline Silva of Fredericksburg, Texas and Dorothy Morrison of Austin, Texas, and 5 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2018 in the Chapel of Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home, 1811 Idlewild Avenue, SR 16, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery.
