Mrs. Alberta "Ms. Berta" Theresa Pape, age 96 of Starke passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at Windsor Manor Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Pawnee, Illinois November 16, 1925, to Richard and Bertha (Loveless) Smith. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Pape owned and operated Pape Family Daycare for many years. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school. She loved children and her family. In Addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years Lewis H. "Louie" Pape and their daughter Janet Gulley. Mrs. Pape was the oldest of nine children in which five brothers and three sisters had all preceded her in death. Her survivors include her grandchildren Shawn Gulley (Fred), Ron Gulley (Meredith) and Nicole Andino (Jose) along with four great-grandchildren Angel Garcias, Seth Gulley, Holden Gulley, and Baylor Gulley. Also left behind are numerous nieces and nephews. An online celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
