Ms. Green Young

Ms. Emma Green Young, age 68, passed away on December 4, 2017 at Shands Hospital surrounded by close family after an extended illness. Ms. Young was a lifetime resident of Gainesville, FL and she was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Gainesville, FL. Ms. Young was employed by Shands Hospital as a Registered Nurse for over 35 years before retiring.Ms. Young is survived by many who will forever cherish precious memories. Her loving and devoted children: Rodney and Latara Young of Gainesville, FL. A loving, devoted and caring significant other, Larry Watson of Gainesville, FL. Her siblings: Tisha McGlon (Aaron McGlon Sr-Deceased), Bettye Player (Dennifield), Napoleon Green Jr (Carmen) of Gainesville, FL, Charlotte Green (Alphonso) and Linda Adams of Atlanta, GA, Sheila Turner (Bobby) of Hampton, VA, and Amelia Mitchell (Larry) of Jacksonville, FL. Her grandchildren: Rodney Young Jr, Tiara Young, Tianna Young and Auriyan Johnson of Gainesville, FL and Reece Young of Atlanta, GA. Her great grandson: Lennox Graham of Louisville, KY and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends who will cherish her precious memories.Funeral services for Ms. Young will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 2:00pm at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Gainesville, Florida. Pastor Freemon N. Gallmon, Pastor and Eulogist, Evang. Gladys Ellis, Officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Meadows East Cemetery under the care of Forest Meadows Funeral Home & Cemeteries, 725 NW 23rd Ave, Gainesville, FL. There will be no viewing at the funeral.
