Mrs. Anna Muriel Gilhooly age 83, of Starke passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009 at North Florida Regional Medical Center following a long illness. She was born on July 31, 1925 in Jacksonville to the late Thomas Clayton and Chester Alvarez Crawford, and was long time area resident. Mrs. Gilhooly retired from the Florida Department of Corrections where she worked in Accounting. She was an active member of St. Edwards Catholic Church, serving as member and former president of the Alter Society. She was a member of the American Legion in Starke, and served on the local Democratic Committee. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Gilhooly and close friend John Wadvosky. Survivors are: her daughter: Gail Elaine Richardson of Birmingham, AL; son: Clay Gilhooly of Starke; grandchildren: Danika Richardson Roll of Birmingham, AL; Zachary Clayton Gilhooly; Kara Nicole Gilhooly; and Ryan Gilhooly all of Gainesville; great granddaughter: Peyton Roll. The family will receive friends at the JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 514 E. Nona St. Starke, FL 32091 on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 6-8 PM. with Rosary services from 7:30-8:00.Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM in St. Edwards Catholic Church.
