Myra Lee Lueders, age 93 of Jacksonville, passed away on May 15, 2021. Myra was born on January 9, 1928 in Ellenwood, Georgia. She is survived by a daughter, Lona and T. L. Ogier of Fleming Island, FL; two sons, Jack and Michele Lueders, Jr. and Jimmie and Elaine Lueders. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren; Jason and Jennifer Lueders, Briana and Josh Costa, Janae and Jon Almaraz, Ryland and Smitha Lueders, and Maggie and Jake Luke and 10 great grandchildren; Spencer, Callen, and Raegan Lueders, Katherine, Jackson, and Joshua Costa, Brayden and Brennan Almaraz, Ryland Lueders, Jr, and Thomas Luke; and 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Lee and Connie and Ray Swain. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville for 52 years and taught 5 year old children in Sunday School for many of those years. The passions of her life were daily prayer and studying her Bible, and to point others to Christ, whom she truly loved with all her heart, soul, and mind. She took every opportunity to show Jesus to those with which she came in contact. She loved spending time with her family and was a constant prayer warrior on their behalf. The family would like to express our gratitude to Moms caregivers; Debbie Watkins-Barraza, Hermite Roc, and Angela Johnson (AJ). The acts of love and compassion they showed Mom were a true blessing from the Lord. We would also like to thank the staff and management of Camellia of Deerwood, her home for the last five years, for all they have done to care for her.The family will have a private burial at Greenlawn Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Covenant School of Jacksonville (formerly First Baptist Academy), 2300 Bartram Road, Jacksonville, FL 32207Arrangements under the direction of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S.Testimony written by Myra Lueders for The first Baptist Church Mother's Day cookbook in 1982.To stand on this side of fifty-four years and look back over life, it is easy to sort out those things that had such a tremendous bearing upon my life from those not so significant. To choose words to describe them is another matter.Who could find words to express feelings about a home where Christian parents loved and cared for you? Who can describe the choice place of wife, mother and homemaker with a husband, family and grandchildren I love deeply? They are set beyond any price. But to attempt to arrange these words to describe my position in Christ is out of reach - except that there are those who read this who can identify precisely with what I say.In 1962, after having been a church member for a long time, God set about to do a work in my heart as He convicted me and brought about my new birth. When I came to know the Lord, old things did pass away and all things became new. I saw the scripture through new eyes, and I loved and hungered for it. I wondered what it would be like to be in a church fellowship described in the Bible as Philadelphian. In 1969 God allowed US TO BECOME A PART OF SUCH A CHURCH - the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. It has been a joy and a place of spiritual growth. My first lifetime goal is to glorify Christ through my life. I want my love for Christ to grow by coming to know Him better. I want His fruit to be evidenced in my life because of being rooted and grounded in Him. I want to teach lives with the Gospel.God's goal for me is that I be conformed to the image of His dear Son, and He'll continue this work until we are glorified before Him.Yes, but I love this church. I love it because it has as its mission to build up the body that we might more effectively point people to Calvary - the place we must personally encounter. The knees of the heart must bend in brokenness over sin, and they will when the eyes really see, for the first time, what sin did to the Savior that we might be saved..
