Mrs. Nancy Roberts age 88 a longtime resident of Starke and surrounding North Central Florida area passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. She was born on August 23, 1934, in the big city of Hastings to the late Amos Newell and Miriam (Smith) Wyllys. Her survivors are her devoted husband of 70 years George W. Roberts, Jr. of Starke and their three children Richard W. Roberts (Janet) of Palm Coast, Brenda R. Kniseley (David) and Charles "Scott" Roberts (Kim) all of Starke. She was also lovingly called "NaNa" by seven grandchildren; Lea, Tyler, JoBeth, Wesley, Priscilla, DarbyAnn, and Meghan plus eight great grandchildren and two on the way!Prior to retirement, she had owned and operated a sewing shop in Gainesville and Nancys Flowers in the City of Starke. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Starke, an avid Florida Gator fan and known for her amazing stained-glass creations. She was also recognized as one of the Santa Fe Colleges - "Woman of Distinction" for our community. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel. The memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2022, in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Moore and Reverend Josh Rankin officiating. Interment will be at Crosby Lake Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a financial donation to the local Bradford Food Pantry, P.O.
