Neil Alexander MacLeod, 73 of Gainesville, FL, passed away on Fri., April 29, 2022, at N. FL Regional Medical Center.Neil was born Fri., July 9,1948 in Weymouth, MA to Neil and June (Street) MacLeod.He was a RN the V.A. Medical Center and Shands Health Care, Gainesville. Prior to his career change(nursing), he served as purchasing manager for both Alachua County and the City of Gainesville.Neil is survived by his wife, Joan, his children, Neil Douglas (Amy), Sheryl (Mike) Rebecca Rawls (Philip), Bryan and Daniel, by his brother Mark MacLeod, sisters, Lauren MacLeod (Cox) and Wendy Harvey, as well as by his grandchildren, Heather, Bee, Emma, Gabby and Harvey.He was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and June MacLeod.Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5th from 1-3 and 6-8 pm at Forest Meadows Funeral Home; 725 NW 23rd Avenue Gainesville, with a Mass of the Christian Burial to be celebrated on May 6th at 11:00 am at Holy Faith Catholic Church; 747 NW 43rd Street, Gainesville.Memorial contributions may be made in Neil's memory to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.Arrangements are under the care of Forest Meadows Funeral Home.
