Nima Doris Thacker

Mrs. Nima Doris Thacker age 84, of Keystone Heights passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville. She was born January 19, 1934, in Hightower, Alabama to Lawrence A. and Lillian (Wheeler) Walker. Mrs. Thacker moved made Keystone Home in 1964 moving here from Piedmont, Alabama. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Thacker was employed with the State of Florida University Physicians. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church and loved working in the yard taking care of her flowers and plants. Nimas home was the first Yard of the Month to be awarded by the Garden Club of the Lakes, FFGC many years ago and was again selected as Yard of the Month by the Garden Club of the Lake, FFGC just last year. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Harland L. Thacker and four siblings Billy Walker, Jerry Walker, Jean Pritchett, and Sue Brooks. Mrs. Thacker leaves behind her daughter Beverly Thacker Lewis (Andrew) of Sevierville, Tennessee and her son David Thacker (Kara) of Venice; a sister Nell Smith of Valley, AL and a brother George Walker (Linda) of Carrollton, GA. She was also lovingly known as "Grandma" to her four grandchildren Kristy Thacker, Robert Thacker, Cami Lewis and Connor Lewis. Private graveside services will be at Keystone Heights Cemetery.
