Mrs. Nita Elaine Bitgood McRae age 88, of Starke passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Windsor Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. McRae was born on May 8, 1925 in Hope Valley, Rhode Island to the late Robert E. and Leona (Wright) Bitgood and was a resident of Starke for over 54 years. Nita was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, St. Marks Episcopal Church, and a member of St. Marks Alter Guild. She enjoyed knitting, playing the piano, and was a wonderful Gramma Nita GG and NiNi. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Julian E. McRae. She is survived by her children: Mary Gardner Kegley (John) of The Villages, Judy McRae Brown (Marvin) of Starke, Cherrie McRae Gnann (Plen) of Theressa, Jeffrey S. McRae (Jan) of Crystal Lake, Sister: Marcia G. Rice (Hamilton), nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel of JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 2:00 PM until the start of the funeral services at 3 oclock.
