Nivia Borstelmann, affectionately known as Fefi, was born on March 18, 1953, in Havana, Cuba. She joyfully transitioned from this world on October 6, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving behind a vibrant legacy of love, laughter, and compassion. Nivia spent her life as a dedicated baker in the retail industry, sharing her sweet treats and infectious giggle with all those around her.

Nivia found immense happiness in the simple pleasures of life. A lover of gardening, she delighted in planting flowers and fruits, nurturing the earth as generously as she nurtured her loved ones. She had a knack for sewing and cherished moments spent with her husband, Richard Borstelmann, traveling and dancing together. Friends and family knew her best for her lively spirit, compassion, and unwavering positivity.

Nivia's heart was full of love, particularly for her furry companion, Arrow. With a deep faith rooted in her Christian beliefs, she valued the importance of family and the joy of togetherness, especially during the Christmas season. The moment she arrived in the United States from Cuba was a turning point in her life-followed closely by the happiness she felt the day she married Richard, the love of her life.

Nivia is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Borstelmann, daughter, Brenda, 3 grandchildren, son, Kalet and a family that will carry her spirit forward.

In celebration of her life and legacy, family and friends will gather at Forest Meadows Funeral Home for a viewing on October 13, 2025, for public viewing at 6:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on October 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Forest Meadows Cemetery West.

If Nivia was here, she would say, "Don't cry for me, go dance!". So, Let us honor her memory by embracing joy and cherishing the moments we have together.
