Listen to Obituary
Mrs. Noel Duncan Langston, 80, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Langston was born June 3, 1936, in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Basil McVoy and Mildred Frances (Smith) Duncan. She had one sibling, Basil McVoy Duncan Jr. who preceded her in death. Noel attended Mount Vernon College in Washington, D.C. and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Norfolk Chapter. Noel arrived in Orange Park, FL as the spouse of a Naval Aviator in 1971 and lived there for the remainder of her years brightening the lives of those she encountered with her style and wit. "Fair of face and full of grace" Noel radiated elegance, charm, and above all that rare quality known as class. Early in her remarkable life, Noel was an artist and aspiring fashion designer. She passed on a career and soon embodied all the excellent qualities of a strong and devoted U.S. Navy officer's wife. Yet, most of all, she was an amazing, beloved mother and grandmother. Her son, Nicholas Denning Langston, Jr. preceded her in death in 2002. Survivors are her daughter, Noel Stuart Wilcox (Langston) of St. Marys, GA; son, Bryan McVoy Langston of Orange Park; granddaughters, Victoria Noel Wilcox, and Hannah Jane Wilcox; and son-in-law, Mitch Wilcox. Services will be held at the All Saints Episcopal Church on April 28th, 2017 at 11:00 and also at the Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk, VA on May 22, 2017, at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Epilepsy Foundation in Noel's name. Arrangements are under the care of HELM-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 1811 Idlewild Ave. Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. 904-284-9696. www.helmgallagherfh.com
