Nora Avant Glass Nora Avant Glass passed away on October 8, 2013 at age 92 in Atlanta, GA surrounded by her family. Mrs. Glass lived in Jacksonville, FL for over 65 years before moving to Atlanta in 2011 to be closer to her family. She is the widow of George Edward ("Ed") Glass, Jr., who passed away in 1979. She was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Dora Avant, her other sister and brothers, Georgia Whiteley, Wilber Avant, and A. C. Avant, Jr., her parents, Dora Estelle Cook and A. C. Avant, Sr., and a niece, Beth Savage. She is survived by a great-niece, Gayle Blair, and a great-great niece, Melony Bently. On her husband's side, she is survived by her sister-in-law Betty Glass Partin, a niece, Betsy P. Vinson, two nephews, Clyde Partin, Jr., and Keith Partin, two great-nieces, Liz and Jenn Vinson, and three great- nephews, Will Vinson, Will Partin, and Thomas Partin. Graveside services with Rev. Richard E. Carney officiating will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 (today) at 2:00pm from the graveside in Evergreen Cemetery (Gate #1) in Jacksonville, FL.
