Obituary

Norma Hazel Bailey, born May 28, 1929, passed away on August 4, 2023 at the age of 94. She was born in Parker's Lake, Kentucky, and moved with her family to West Virginia where she grew up and graduated from Man high School. She married her husband Clarence (C.L. Bailey) in 1948 and subsequently moved to Sarasota, Florida where she worked as a hair stylist. After retiring she and her husband bought a 12-acre farm in Nashville, Tennessee where they raised chickens and cattle. In 1986 they moved to Gainesville, Florida where she was an active member of Westside Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining. She also loved traveling around the country visiting family and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, and three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her brother, Larry Davis, two daughters, Sandra Grantham (Steve) and Linda McCarley (Dean), five grandchildren, Jeremy Larsen, Kristy Larsen, Bryon McCarley, Patrick McCarley, and Sandy McCarley, and five great-grandchildren, Miles and Keaton Alcala, Ava Cason and Eljah and Kaleb McCarley.She was buried beside her husband at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on August 15, 2023.
