Mrs. Opal Jeanette Haire, 81 of Melrose, died Friday, September 18, 2009 at the Bradford Terrace Nursing Home in Starke. Mrs. Haire was born on May 10, 1928 in Columbus, OH and moved to Melrose from Jacksonville in 1961. Prior to retirement, Mrs. haire worked 10 years with the Duval and Putnam County Education Department. Opals memberships include the St. Annes Episcopal Church and the American Legion Post #202 of Keystone Heights. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Joe B. Haire of Melrose; children: Martha Jeanette Reed of Melrose, Terri Harris of Hawthorne, Allison Haire of Apopka, and John Michael Haire of Jacksonville, and one brother Raymond Harding of W. VA. She is also survived by her 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Viewing for Mrs. Haire will be held on Monday, September 21, 2009 at the funeral home from 5-7. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 10 oclock in the St. Annes Episcopal Church will the Father Harold Ritchie officiating.
