Ophie Boynton

Funeral services for Ophie "Doe Doe" Boynton, 100, who passed away on December 15, 2015, will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206 with Rev. Jay Smoot officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in Pelham City Cemetery, Pelham, Georgia. Mrs. Boynton was born in Pelham, Georgia and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida. She was the owner and operator of Boyntons Beehive Day Care Nursery and was an active member of the North Jacksonville Baptist Church where she founded the "Young Married Adults Class". She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, the late William Steve Boynton; Survivors include her 3 daughters, Stephanie Haskett, Sarah Smoot (Jerry) and Terri Maltby Sanders (Levant); 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made in her memory to either the Alzheimers Association or the North Jacksonville Baptist Church.
