Mr. Oscar C. Norris, 85 of Keystone Heights died at the Emeritus Senior Living Facility in Gainesville on Monday, May 17, 2010. Mr. Norris was born in Louverne, Alabama on Nov. 21, 1924 and had moved to Keystone Heights in 1979 from Ft. Lauderdale. Prior to his retirement he was a Roof Truss Manufacturer and salesman. Mr. Norris was also of the Baptist Faith and he had served in the United States Navy during WWII. Mr. Norris loved to read his Bible and was an avid Gator fan loving all sports, golfing, fishing, and playing card games. Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Gloria in 2004. His survivors are his children; Gail Downing (David) of Marietta, GA, Garland J. Gary Norris (Marian) of Keystone Heights, and Greg A. Norris (Carol) of Jacksonville. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Matthew, Stuart, Christina, and Christopher and great grandchildren; Alissa, Lucas, and Landon. Viewing for Mr. Norris will be held on Thursday, May 20th from 5-7 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 10 Oclock in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rob Morford officiating. Burial will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society of the Hospice of your choice.
