Pamela Jane Rock was born on August 6, 1961. Born to John and Jane Rock of Plantation, FL. She was the 14th and youngest child.Pam attended St. Gregory's Catholic School in Plantation then attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, FL. After high school, Pam attended the University of Florida from 1980-84, graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. She was a proud member of the Gator Marching Band for four years.She worked for the state of Florida WIC program in Alachua County, then spent three years with the Peace Corps in Guatemala educating women on proper nutrition for families. She ventured out west to Yellowstone and spent time on an Indian reservation also educating women on infants' nutritional needs. Pam returned to the east coast working in North Carolina and Georgia resuming her passion with the WIC program.Pam returned to Gainesville, FL and pursued her Post Office employment.Pam was a devoted Florida Gator fan, like many of her siblings. She loved going to UF Football games with her brother whenever she could. Pam loved gardening, building relationships with new people, especially in her church group. Pam loved animals and was a volunteer at St Francis Pet Care in Gainesville. Unfortunately we lost her on Monday, August 22nd at University of Florida Shands Trauma Unit.
