Patricia A. McCarthy passed away on July 25, 2023. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 6, 1940. Her family moved to Miami, Florida where she attended and graduated from Notre Dame Academy. She married the love of her life, Gerald "Red" McCarthy on June 4, 1960. They would have celebrated 63 years of marriage this year. They had four children, John M. McCarthy (Veronica), Jeanne M. Dockeney (Don), Julie Price-Trickey, and Janet M. Schulze (Chad); 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.Pat was a stay-at-home mom in the early years, raising her four children. She started working at Mebane Middle School as an assistant to the Assistant Principal when her children were attending the school. She went on to become a Judicial Assistant with the State's Attorney's office. She was well liked by everyone she met, due to her kind heart and outgoing personality.After she retired, she enjoyed playing games on her phone and computer (Farmville was a big favorite back in the day). She and Red also liked to travel to play cards (Texas Hold'em).Services will be at Forest Meadows Cemetery in the Mausoleum at 4100 NW 39 th Avenue in Gainesville, Florida on Friday, July 28th . Visitation will begin at 12 noon, followed by a service at 1 pm. Entombment immediately follows.
