Mrs. Patricia Pat Thies Miles age 67, of Florahome passed away at her home on Sunday, November 18, 2012 following an extended illness. Mrs. Miles was born in Sebring, FL on November 26, 1944 to the late Frank and Alta (Frier) Thies and was of the Mormon Faith. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Miles was a Registered Nurse working with the local hospitals in Jacksonville and also giving 24 years as an RN in a private OBGYN office. In 1989 she and her husband had moved to Florahome from Orange Park. She was an avid Gator fan and loved outdoor activities. Mrs. Miles daughter Shannon LeAnne Edwards has preceded her in death. Survivors are her husband of 30 years; Jerry Miles, Sr., children; Jerry Jay Miles, Jr. (Wanda) of Middleburg, Jeffery Miles (Theresa), Jody Miles (Cecelia) all of Fayetteville, NC, and Christina Griffin (Willy) of Jacksonville. Also left behind is one brother; David Thies of Green Cove Springs, one sister; Kellie Trowell of Jacksonville, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, and numerous cousins. Funeral services for Mrs. Miles will be held in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. with Mr. Gene Frier officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services beginning. The family has requested live plants to help complete the memorial garden being made for Mrs. Miles.
