A graveside service for Paul Kelly Bailey 66, of Jax, FL will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11AM in the Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Boulevard, Jax, FL 32207. Paul was born on February 20, 1957 in Bluefield, WV, to his parents(whom preceded him in death); Frances Irene and Elmo Easley "Sonny" Bailey. Paul was a selfless loving husband and father. Paul is survived by his loving wife Emily Rose Bailey, two daughters; Dr. Elizabeth (Larry) Board Guzzardo of Atlanta, GA and Kelly A. Bailey and her husband Matthew Frake of Davenport, FL, a son Joseph Hoke Board of Jax, FL, a sister Rose (Ken) Bailey Smith of Jax, FL, a brother Stephen (Margaret) Bailey of Interlocken, FL and two grandsons; Dillon (Mackenzie) Hoke Board of Jax, FL and Dalton Hoke Board of Aurora, CO. Paul was also preceded in death by his oldest brother David Bailey and his grandmothers; Mildred Pennington and Minnie Bailey. For Paul, being a public servant was a natural calling. As a teenager he volunteered with the fire department and always enjoyed helping people. He retired with JSO after twenty-six and a half years, receiving a lifesaving medal. He was a JSO helicopter pilot and served as a training officer. He was often called on to be PIS, a compliment to his knowledge and work ethic. An open visitation will be held between the hours of 9AM and 8PM on Friday March 24, 2023 at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South Jacksonville, FL 32216.
