Mr. Paul Peter Farina 82, of Keystone Heights passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Haven Hospice in Gainesville following an extended illness. Mr. Farina was born in Hartford, CT on April 18, 1929 to the late Andrew and Lucy (Cassarino) Farina and had served in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement he was the Director of Recreations at the Oak Hill School for the Blind in Hartford, CT. In 1980 Mr. Farina moved to Keystone Heights from Glastonbury, CT. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, Keystone Golf and Country Club, a former Boys Club & Scouting Leader and was recognized by the Gainesville Exchange Club for working in the Drug and Alcohol Awareness. Preceded him death was his wife; Rhoda L. (Dwyer) and five siblings. Survivors are his wife of 7 years; Peggy Farina, one daughter; Paula Jean Allen (Bobby) of Keystone Heights, two sons; Andrew W. Farina (Laura) of Charlotte, NC, David W. Farina (Diane) of St. Augustine, one sister; Josephine Neary of East Hartford, CT, and one sister in law; Barbara Farina of Avon, MN. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren, two step children; Peree Stewart (Larry) of Orlando, Edward White (Maude) of Bushnell, and five step grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Farina will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Hubbard officiating.
