PPaul Allen O'Brien, 79, of Gainesville, passed away December 27, 2012 at his home. Paul was born in Nashville, TN and moved to Gainesville in 1969. He was a U.S. Veteran serving in the Navy. He was an Electrical Engineer and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was very active. Paul also enjoyed volunteering at North Florida Regional Medical Center.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Coles O'Brien, sons David A. O'Brien of Arlington, VA and John Andrew "Andy" O'Brien (Julia) of Orlando, and sister Linda Rushing (Larry) of Charlotte, NC.Funeral Services will be held on December 29, 2012 at 11:30 AM at the Chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church, 4000 NW 53rd Ave., Gainesville, FL with Dr. Dan Johnson Officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 10:30-11:30 AM. Burial will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Franklin, TN at a later date.
