Obituary

Jamesine Reeve, age 99 of Cumming GA passed away quietly at Pruitt Place Buckhead on June 20, 2024. Jamesine was born and raised in High Springs FL on March 25, 1925, to James Paul and Ethyl Smith. After graduating from High Springs High School, she attended Stetson University and then Emory University Nursing School where she met J. Jackson Reeve. After marriage in 1943 and his time in the Navy, they started a family and began Jamesine Interiors in Calhoun GA, his hometown. In 1951 they all moved to Atlanta. After a few years Jackson returned to Emory to become an orthodontist practicing in Atlanta and Cumming with Jamesine working in the office. They enjoyed their home on Lake Lanier and active membership in First Baptist Church Cumming. Jamesine was predeceased by her parents; brother, Jack Gilmer Smith of Arlington TX; and her beloved husband of 66 years, Dr. J. Jackson Reeve of Cumming GA.Survivors include their 3 children: Bonnie Dee Reeve Dudley and husband Dan of Danielsville, GA. James Jackson Reeve, Jr. and wife Pat of Atlanta and Dr. John Paul Reeve and wife Kelly of Elijay, GA. Grandchildren are John Bryan Reeve and Jenifer Elaine Reeve Dawkins and husband Jason and step grandson Jeffrey David Williams, Jr. and wife Crystal. Jamesine is also survived by her sister-in-law Floy Smith-Gober of Arlington, TX along with many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming GA at 12:00 noon on Tuesday July 2nd followed at 1:00 by a memorial service in the chapel officiated by Dr. Bob Jolly. Interment will be at Noon on July 9, 2024 by Evans Carter Funeral Home at the High Springs Cemetery.
