Peggie New

Peggie Young New, 87, went home to be with the Lord on June 5, 2017. Peggie was a Christian and member of Fruit Cove Baptist Church, faithfully attending the services whenever able. Previously, she had served at other churches as secretary and librarian.Peggie is survived by her daughter, Sharon Garcia; two grandsons, Leonardo Garcia and Aaron (Shannon) Garcia; four great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Max and John New; and other relatives and friends. Among those preceding Peggie in death were her devoted husband, James Arthur New; a son, James Oliver New; and her parents, Ollie Young and Leila Clark Young.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday June 8, in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd. S., with Rev. Charles Ragland officiating.
