Peggy Ann Neel

Mrs. Peggy Ann Neel age 86, of Starke passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at Lake Butler Hospital and Hand Surgery Center. Peggy was born on October 29, 1931 in Starke to the late Alva and Laura (Hemingway) Wiggins. Prior to retirement she worked for the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville as a secretary for the Department of Water Survival. Peggy was a very active longtime member of First Baptist Church and touched many lives as a surrogate grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Donald Everett Neel who passed on January 16, 2018 and her brother, Jimmy Wiggins.Survivors are, her sons: Donald A. Neel (Cindy) of Houston, TX, Kevin S. Neel (Tamara) of Albany, GA, sister: Susan Nichols (Phillip) of Starke, brothers: Gene Wiggins (Paula) of Newnan Georgia, and Bobby Wiggins (Nancy) of Virginia Beach, VA., sister-in-law: Carolyn Wiggins of Jacksonville. Also left behind are grandchildren: Nicole Neel Williamson (Nicholas), Ami Joanna Lansford (Benjamin), John-Paul Everett Neel and Chelsie Hammock (Beau), great grandchildren: Ashlyn Piper Edwards and Nolan Randy Williamson. The family will receive friends at the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 163 W. Jefferson Street in Starke with Pastor Justin Durrance and Pastor Ben Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Crosby Lake Cemetery.
